Cooper's hawk smaller hawk that lives in the Northeast of the USA. At my residence I have been literall feet away as a Cooper's hawk swoops out no where to swipe a small bird out of the area. The hawk quickly disappeared as soon as it appeared. In early March, we came upon the hawk as he had just captured a small fox squirrel. He took off from lane with the squirrel in his clutches.
